Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
This policy is in effect. Our legal counsel reviews it periodically and it may be refined over time.
This policy explains what InvoiceOffline and this website collect. It is written in plain language because there isn't much to explain. If anything here is unclear, email support@invoiceoffline.com and a real person will answer.
The app: your data stays on your Mac
First, the important part: the InvoiceOffline desktop app has no telemetry, no accounts, and no cloud. Your invoices, clients, and financial data live only on your Mac, in a local database on your device. We never receive them, we never store them, and we could not look at them if we wanted to.
One honest detail about Pro licenses: when you activate a license key, the app may perform a one-time, best-effort check of that key's status with our server, so that refunded keys can be deactivated. This check sends only the license key itself, never your invoices, clients, or any business data. If you are offline, the check is simply skipped and activation works anyway.
When you buy a license
- Payment is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Your card details go to Lemon Squeezy and its payment processors, never to us. Their handling of your data is described in the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy.
- Order details: we receive your email address and basic order information from Lemon Squeezy so we can generate your license key and email it to you (license emails are sent through Resend, our email delivery provider).
- License records: we keep a record of your license (your email, order id, and key) as proof of purchase, so we can resend your key if you lose it and honor your license over the years.
What this website collects
- Your email address, only if you choose to submit it (for example to contact support or to hear about the product).
- Anonymous usage events: page views, scroll depth, and button clicks (including which price you saw), so we can understand what works on the site.
- Basic technical data sent by your browser: referring page, user agent, and any campaign tags (UTM parameters) in the link you arrived from.
Cookies and advertising
Our analytics are privacy-friendly and cookieless. We don't set our own tracking cookies or build an advertising profile of you. If you arrive from a Google ad, Google may set a cookie so we can measure whether that ad led to a download or a purchase. That measurement tells us a conversion happened; it is not used by us to follow you around the web.
How it's used and stored
We use this information to deliver your license, answer support requests, and understand demand for the product. Data is stored with our infrastructure providers: Vercel (website hosting and database), PostHog (analytics), Lemon Squeezy (payments), and Resend (email delivery). We do not sell, rent, or share your email or any of your data with anyone else, and we don't send marketing you didn't ask for.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, or to delete it, at any time: email support@invoiceoffline.com and we'll take care of it. One note: if you own a Pro license, we may need to keep the license record itself (email, order id, key) as proof of your purchase and to comply with accounting requirements. Delete requests never touch your invoices or clients, because those exist only on your Mac.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and refresh the "Last updated" date at the top. We will never quietly start collecting your invoice data; local-only storage is the entire point of InvoiceOffline.
